Winners Wear Cleats: 16 of Top 20 at BMW Championship Chose Cleated Footwear
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., August 19, 2019 – The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Playoffs moved to Medinah Country Club this week for the BMW Championship, and once again, cleated footwear was the choice of the event winner and 16 of the top 20 finishers. With a trip to next week’s Tour Championship on the line, the world’s best golfers demonstrated that the stability provided by Softspikes® and Champ® replaceable cleats delivers accurate shots and lower scores.
“With the FedEx Cup up for grabs, players are using the equipment that they trust, and that includes replaceable cleats rather than spikeless or tennis-shoe style footwear,” said John Hohman, senior vice president of marketing for Pridesports®. “There are 15 million reasons why these players prefer the superior traction that can only be provided by replaceable cleat technology.”
At the BMW Championship, the event winner claimed his 10th career PGA Tour victory wearing FootJoy® Icon shoes with Champ® Pro-Stinger FT cleats.

At the Korn Ferry Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship, the winner wore Nike Vapor React 2 footwear with Black Widow replaceable cleats from Softspikes®. On the Asian Tour, the winner of the Sarawak Championship chose FootJoy® shoes with Softspikes® Pulsar cleats.
Replacement Softspikes® and Champ® cleats can be purchased in the golf section of most large retailers, sporting goods stores, golf specialty and golf course pro shops across the country. Cleats can also be purchased online from any of these locations, your favorite online store or directly from www.golfspikes.com.
